Dr. Darren Cartwright is a native of St. Louis. Upon completing high school, he entered the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky in the 1-101st Airborne Division. He is a veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and received an Honorable Discharge in November 1991.
He attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He then went on to Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry in Nashville where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2005. He has been actively practicing dentistry since returning to the St. Louis area. Dr. Cartwright is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Mound City Dental Society. He attends continuing education courses to broaden his knowledge about dentistry. In his spare time, he enjoys flying helicopters and traveling. He also enjoys maintaining a healthy lifestyle by working out regularly.
